Well, I see the switch from gas, to Hydrogen would be like the switch from leaded to unleaded. you will have to have stations that offer both fuels. The home refueler would make the switch quicker, but think of it this way. If you have another machine around the house it is expensive. You have to buy, run and maintain this equipment. This is the same reason people are not running out and buying the home biofuel plants for their diesel engines. Also you have to realize that many people will not buy a home device if the savings/perceived benefit does not come with in 3 years. (this is why many home owners do not buy solar panels to power their home, on average I think it takes at least 7 years to get a return on solar panels).

Hydrogen cars sound like the way to go in long term. However, in order to adopt this technology, it requires a large amount of investment in the infrastructure. I want to hear your thought on the home hydrogen refueler. This seems to be the way to make this solution feasible and happen quicker.

Hi,

For my EeePC to prove useful as well as fun, it needed software.

After three days of brain-numbing frustration with other distros and lack of drivers, I came back to Xandros in advanced mode. The Xandros 4.5 OC Eeepc SDK provides Exclipse 3.5 with Java 5, the version the Eeepc requires. But the learning curve is too high and that Eclipse version will not even link your widgets to code snippits.

My solution is to employ Netbeans 6 as a programming IDE with Java 5 (1.5.15) under Window, Linux, Mac, Solaris,.... The basic steps, and a resultant screen shot, can be viewed at http://currah.info/pages/eeepc/

Safari Tech Books is just about the most amazing thing in the universe. I completely agree with what you said. There are plenty of times when I'm interested in something and just want to read about it first before I go out and spend money on it. I'm actually reading the O'Reilly book "Ruby on Rails: Up and Running" right now in another window. But yeah once you get through a few chapters we should start some sort of database driven something or other. =0)
